The Research and Consultancy Institute at King Abdulaziz University was established in 1418 AH (1998) by the decision of the Higher Education Council, No. 07/09/1418 AH, in its ninth session held on 06/09/1418 AH, and was finalized with the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Prime Minister, and the Chairman of the Higher Education Council, based on the royal directive No. 7/476/M, dated 23/12/1418 AH, and communicated to the university through letter No. 2156/A, dated 25/12/1418 AH. The institute is considered a manifestation of the university’s role, aiming to enhance the university’s function, which extends beyond academic education to include scientific research, consultancy services, studies, and contractual work. This is done to engage with the community and contribute to solving its various issues. In this context, the institute’s role is to link the university’s financial, human, and scientific research resources with both the public and private sectors, by offering expertise in scientific research, consultancy, training, and other tasks. The institute relies on strengthening cooperation with local and international partners with diverse expertise, aiming to develop and enhance the competencies in both sectors. This contributes to increasing productivity and applying sustainable development strategies. This aligns with the goals and vision of Saudi Arabia's 2030 Vision and its transformational programs.
