Overview

The Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Chair for Establishing the Saudi Approach to Moderation was established based on an idea proposed by His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the then Governor of Makkah Province, when he delivered a lecture at King Abdulaziz University on 20/3/1430H titled "Establishing the Saudi Approach to Moderation." King Abdulaziz University took responsibility for overseeing the chair, developing its strategic vision, and organizing its scientific and cultural action plans, with the goal of promoting the culture of moderation in Saudi society. On 3/10/1437 AH, the chair was transformed into the Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Center for Moderation, and on 24/1/1440H, the Minister of Education issued a decision to change its name to the Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Institute for Moderation. The institute is a specialized entity in intellectual security, counter-terrorism, and combating extremism. It offers academic programs and initiatives aimed at promoting the culture of moderation and enhancing the image of the Kingdom both locally and internationally. The institute focuses on supporting scientific research, academic publishing, and producing media content that contributes to addressing issues of extremism, violence, and racism while spreading the values of moderation within society.
