Transition Plan to Blackboard

Introduction

King Abdulaziz University is implementing a gradual transition from the "Blackboard Learn Original" environment to the modern "Blackboard Learn Ultra" environment. To ensure a smooth transition and optimal benefit from this shift, and to provide an advanced learning experience, this process will be carried out according to an organized and approved transition plan including:

  • Full shutdown of the current system from August 14 – 23, 2025.
  • Training colleges on the Ultra system in coordination with the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, with dedicated technical support.
  • Supporting colleges that have developed custom course templates in transferring content from previous courses (Original) to the new system in an organized manner.

Ultra features a simpler and more interactive interface with smoother navigation, and offers enhanced tools for content management, student tracking, and course communication.
