Director of the Data Management Office
Prof. Naif Al-Juhani is a professor at the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at King Abdulaziz University. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southampton, UK, in 2014, a Master’s in Computer Networks from La Trobe University, Australia, in 2009, and a Bachelor’s in Computer Education from King Abdulaziz University in 2005.
He holds several academic and administrative positions at the university. In October 2024, he was appointed to oversee digital transformation and information technology, leading the university-wide digital transformation efforts, supervising the development of IT infrastructure, and implementing data governance strategies to enhance institutional efficiency. Since 2023, he has also served as Director of the Data Management Office, overseeing digital initiatives aimed at improving institutional performance and operational effectiveness.
Prof. Al-Juhani has contributed to founding and managing several key academic and administrative initiatives, including the Decision Support Center (2017–2023), serving as Deputy Director of the High-Performance Computing Center for Technical Affairs (2014–2018), and Chair of the Department of Information Systems (2014–2017). He also founded the King Abdulaziz University Web Studies Observatory in 2014, leading pioneering research in web science, big data analysis, social network data, semantic technologies, and data-driven decision-making.
He is a leading speaker in the university’s Academic Leadership Diploma, delivering workshops on decision-making skills, data-driven strategies, change management, conflict resolution, and research ethics, benefiting over 600 academic leaders from King Abdulaziz University and other Saudi universities.
Prof. Al-Juhani actively supervises graduate students and focuses on developing intelligent systems to enhance educational, operational, and research processes, while promoting the integration of data-driven approaches in policy development and governance practices. He collaborates with researchers and institutions worldwide, contributing to advancements in digital education and the application of data science in academic environments.
