Her Excellency Professor Dr. Hanan bint Abdul Rahim Al-Ahmadi Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Her Excellency Professor Dr. Hanan Al-Ahmadi was appointed Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council by royal decree in October 2020, becoming the first woman to hold this high-ranking parliamentary position in Saudi Arabia. She was previously appointed as a member of the Shura Council in December 2013, among the first group of women to join the Council.
With a distinguished academic and administrative career, Dr. Al-Ahmadi served in various leadership roles at the Institute of Public Administration, including Director of the Women's Branch (2009–2013). She was promoted to Professor of Health Administration in 2017.
She holds a PhD in Health Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master's in Health Administration from Tulane University, and a Bachelor’s in Economics from King Saud University.
Dr. Al-Ahmadi has been an active member of several key national bodies, including the Board of Trustees of King Abdulaziz University, the Saudi Health Council, and the Steering Committee of the Shura Council, as well as advisory and evaluation boards for prestigious awards and academic institutions.
She has published extensively in both Arabic and English on health management and women’s leadership, and has represented Saudi Arabia in various international conferences and parliamentary forums.
Her accolades include the International Award for Exceptional Achievement from Tulane University (2022), membership in Delta Omega Honor Society (USA), and recognitions such as inclusion in Forbes’ 200 Most Powerful Arab Women (2014) and the Sayidaty Award for Creativity and Excellence (2015)
