Established in 1975, the Faculty of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University is one of the leading academic institutions in medical education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. For nearly five decades, the Faculty has played a pivotal role in advancing medical education, scientific research, and community engagement. It has also made significant contributions to the establishment and academic development of several medical schools across the Kingdom, reflecting its enduring national impact on medical education and healthcare development. The Faculty comprises twenty-four academic departments and offers a comprehensive portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate, residency, and fellowship programs that are aligned with national healthcare priorities and internationally recognized academic standards. The Faculty adopts a competency-based medical education (CBME) model through an integrated curriculum that seamlessly connects basic medical sciences with clinical practice while fostering scientific inquiry, critical thinking, professionalism, leadership, and interprofessional collaboration. The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program has been granted full accreditation by the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC).
