Department of Anatomy

The Department of Anatomy is one of the first academic departments established since the faculty’s inception in 1395 AH (1975). The department was founded to be a key scientific foundation in the field of medicine, focusing on teaching human anatomy in all its details, as well as the anatomy of tissues and organs. The department aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge of the anatomical structure of the human body, including the study of tissues and organs, and understanding how anatomy relates to the functions of the body. The department seeks to develop students' skills by providing an integrated learning environment that combines both theoretical and practical aspects, where students learn how to diagnose anatomical abnormalities and understand their impact on organ functions. The department also places great emphasis on using modern educational technologies, such as digital simulations and 3D modeling, to enhance a deep understanding of anatomical structures. Additionally, the department is equipped with several educational facilities, including the Human Body Open Museum, the Basic Anatomy Museum, the Multimedia Laboratory, and the Anatomy Skills Lab, all of which are equipped with the latest technologies and educational tools. The department offers specialized academic programs focusing on clinical anatomy, integrating anatomical sciences with clinical medical sciences. This enables students to acquire the skills necessary to apply anatomical knowledge in real-world clinical situations. The department also contributes to scientific research in the fields of anatomy and tissue medicine, while providing academic support to students at various stages of their medical training. The Department of Clinical Anatomy aims to prepare a generation of doctors and researchers capable of understanding and studying the anatomical and functional structures of the human body. This contributes to improving diagnostic and therapeutic skills and enhances the ability to provide innovative healthcare according to the latest scientific standards.
