The Department of Chemistry was established in the academic year 1393/1394H and is one of the largest and most active departments within the Faculty of Sciences, serving a wide range of students both within and beyond the college. The department is equipped with numerous modern laboratories designed to support both educational and research activities, including specialized labs with advanced instruments for chemical analysis. The department extends its services to other faculties within the university, as well as external sectors, leveraging its laboratory resources and the scientific expertise of its faculty members. To foster research excellence, the department launched its Master’s program in Chemistry in 1398H and has since expanded its graduate offerings. These include coursework-based and thesis-based Master’s programs, a coursework-and-project Master’s track, and a Doctoral program combining coursework and research, established in the first semester of 1425/1426H (2005/2006). The department actively incorporates modern teaching tools, including computer-assisted instruction and online communication platforms, to enhance learning, support research, and maintain effective engagement with students across all programs
