Department of Physics

The Department of Physics was established as one of the core departments in the Faculty of Sciences to provide high-quality theoretical and applied physics. The department aims to train students to understand the fundamental principles of physics while also developing research and analytical skills to solve various scientific challenges faced by society in areas such as industry, energy, technology, and medicine. The department covers a broad spectrum of topics in both theoretical and applied physics, including quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, electromagnetism, nuclear physics, astrophysics, materials science, and modern systems in fields such as renewable energy. The department also emphasizes the development of critical thinking and analytical skills, enabling students to tackle complex and advanced issues in physics. The department offers academic programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, where students learn the core principles of physics and their applications in various scientific and industrial fields. The department also focuses on scientific research in emerging areas of physics, such as medical physics, renewable energy, data analysis, and materials science. The Department of Physics endeavors to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to technological advancements and scientific research, with a focus on training specialists capable of addressing scientific and industrial challenges. This, in turn, strengthens the role of physics in sustainable development and supports the achievement of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
