Department of Pathology

The Department of Pathology was established with the founding of the Faculty of Medicine in Rabigh in 2009, as a specialized branch dedicated to the study of diseases, their causes, mechanisms of occurrence, and their effects on the body. The department aims to study the changes that occur in tissues and cells as a result of infectious and non-infectious diseases, and how these changes affect the functions of different organs. It also includes laboratory diagnosis of diseases using techniques such as microscopic examination of tissues, chemical tests, and genetic analyses. The department also aims to train students to diagnose diseases accurately using advanced laboratory techniques and to understand pathological changes and their effects on the body. It contributes to medical research to develop new therapeutic methods and improve diagnostic and treatment approaches while providing an educational and research environment that supports critical thinking and enhances healthcare quality.
