Department of Anatomy

The Department of Anatomy was established as one of the first departments at King Abdulaziz University in Rabigh in 2009. The department aims to provide educational programs that offer foundational anatomical and applied knowledge to students across various medical specialties. It focuses on teaching general and microscopic anatomy of the human body, neuroanatomy, and embryology to medical students, helping them understand the structure of the human body and develop diagnostic skills. The Department of Anatomy is an essential part of medical education, as it helps build the scientific foundation for understanding the functions of organs and the changes that may occur due to diseases, enhancing students' ability to diagnose medical conditions and understand the nature of diseases more deeply. The department aims to equip students with basic knowledge of human body structure, both through general and microscopic anatomy, while also training them in practical skills related to anatomy studies through laboratory applications. It also seeks to enable students to understand the relationship between the structure of organs and their functions and how anatomical changes affect overall health. The department contributes to encouraging scientific research in the field of anatomy and its relationship to diagnosis and medical treatment while providing an educational environment that fosters critical thinking and enhances students' ability to apply their knowledge in clinical medical practice.
