Biography
I am an Associate Professor in the Management Information Systems department at King Abdulaziz University, where I have also served as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration since 2019. My academic background includes a PhD in Information Systems (2011), a postgraduate diploma in research methods (2008), and an MSc in E-business with distinction (2007) from Aston University, UK. I also hold a BSc in Computer Science from King Abdulaziz University (1992) and I am certified as a Microsoft Certified System Engineer. In addition to my academic pursuits, I have held various administrative roles, including director of the executive MBA program (2015–2020) and director of the IT department (2013–2016) at King Abdulaziz University. Between 2012 and 2015, I was a visiting research fellow at Aston Business School. My professional experience also spans roles at Dar Al Hekma University as Network Administrator and user support, and at the National Guard Health Affairs as user support team leader, help desk analyst, and Computer Instructor. My research interests focus on information systems implementation, technology acceptance, organizational use of technology, knowledge management, e-learning, e-government, artificial intelligence, business intelligence, and cybersecurity. I have secured several competitive research grants, including the Cybersecurity Research and Innovation Pioneer Grant under the National Program for RDI in Cybersecurity (2025), and multiple grants from King Abdulaziz University and other national programs. Throughout my career, I have received awards such as the Research Excellence Award (2015) and Excellence in Teaching Award (2014) from the Faculty of Economics and Administration at King Abdulaziz University. I am a lifetime member of Beta Gamma Sigma and have published widely in reputable journals and edited volumes, reflecting my commitment to advancing research and innovation in information systems and technology management.
