Department of Economics

The Department of Economics was established in the academic year 1389/1390 AH (1969/1970 ) as the second academic department in the Faculty of Economics and Administration. The department offers a Bachelor's degree in Economics through a comprehensive program integrated with other scientific departments in the faculty. The department focuses on training students in various fields and specialized tracks, including Monetary Economics and Financial Institutions, Insurance Economics, International Economics, Business Economics, Islamic Finance, Transport and Tourism Economics, and Feasibility Study Economics. The department also offers a Master's degree in Economics for graduate students, with the option to choose between a Master's program with coursework and a thesis, or with coursework and a research project. The department collaborates with the Institute of Islamic Economics in various areas to conduct economic research. Additionally, several faculty members from the department contribute to the preparation of different economic studies through the activities of the Research and Development Center.
