Department of Political Science

The Department of Political Science was established in 1982 (1403 AH) in response to the development and higher education needs of the Kingdom, and to complete the structure of the Faculty of Economics and Administration at King Abdulaziz University. The department was equipped with highly qualified academic staff, and since 1985, it has regularly graduated cohorts of students. Thanks to God's grace and success, the department's graduates have demonstrated high competency and success in state institutions, media organizations, and the private sector, with many advancing to prestigious leadership roles. Faculty members in the department have also contributed significantly by providing studies and consultations at the university level, within government bodies, media, and the private sector. The department trains students in various fields and specialized tracks, including Global Political Economy, Public Policy and Development, Political Research and Analysis, and Public Opinion and Political Behavior.
