Department of Urology
The Department of Urology at the Faculty of Medicine, King Abdulaziz University, is one of the specialized clinical departments and has evolved into a leading center for the diagnosis and management of urinary tract and male genitourinary disorders in both adults and children. The Department comprises a distinguished team of faculty members and consultants with expertise across various urological subspecialties. It provides advanced diagnostic, medical, and surgical services using the latest technologies and evidence-based practices. Its services include the management of kidney stones, prostate diseases, bladder disorders, endourology and minimally invasive surgery, reconstructive urology, and advanced diagnostic procedures such as urodynamic studies and ultrasound-guided interventions. The Department is guided by a vision of achieving excellence in medical education, scientific research, and specialized patient care in Urology. Its mission is to prepare highly qualified physicians and urologic surgeons with outstanding scientific knowledge and clinical and surgical skills while delivering safe, high-quality, evidence-based healthcare. To achieve this vision and mission, the Department offers comprehensive educational programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students, supervises residency and fellowship training, and provides advanced clinical education through outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, and operating theaters. In addition, the Department actively promotes scientific research, continuing medical education, and community engagement through specialized consultations, health awareness initiatives, and collaboration with healthcare and academic institutions at the local, regional, and international levels.
