The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, King Abdulaziz University, was established in 1990 and is one of the specialized clinical departments providing comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical care for patients with musculoskeletal disorders and injuries. The Department comprises a distinguished team of faculty members and consultants with expertise in a wide range of orthopedic subspecialties, including Trauma and Fracture Surgery, Spine Surgery, Pediatric Orthopedics, Hand Surgery, Foot and Ankle Surgery, Sports Medicine, Upper Extremity Surgery, and Limb Reconstruction and Prosthetics, utilizing the latest evidence-based surgical techniques and technologies. The Department is guided by a vision of achieving excellence in patient care, medical education, and scientific research in Orthopedic Surgery while serving as a leading academic center for training healthcare professionals and delivering advanced orthopedic care in accordance with international best practices. Its mission is to prepare highly qualified physicians and orthopedic surgeons with outstanding clinical and surgical competencies while fostering innovation, scientific research, and the highest standards of quality and patient safety.
