Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of the vital departments in the Faculty of Medicine. It is considered one of the core pillars of providing specialized medical education in the field of women’s health. The department was established to be a distinguished scientific center for the study and treatment of obstetric and gynecological conditions, aiming to provide students with in-depth knowledge about various aspects of women’s health from adolescence to post-menopause. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology aims to train students in the diagnosis and effective treatment of a wide range of health conditions related to the female reproductive system, such as gynecological cancers and infertility, in addition to pregnancy care, childbirth, and postpartum care. Students are also trained to handle emergency cases related to women's health and obstetrics. The department also focuses on training students in the latest medical techniques in areas such as gynecological surgery, medical imaging, and intensive care for both mother and fetus, including the management of pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia and other related issues. It offers a comprehensive educational environment that combines both theoretical and practical training, with students receiving hands-on training in university hospitals, enabling them to apply medical concepts in a real clinical setting. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology aims to prepare outstanding doctors capable of providing comprehensive and exceptional healthcare to women at different stages of life, thereby contributing to improving the quality of healthcare in the Kingdom and supporting medical innovation in this field.
