The Department of Dermatology at the Faculty of Medicine, King Abdulaziz University, was established in 1435 AH / 2014, after being a division under the Department of Internal Medicine since the founding of the faculty in 1395 AH / 1975 , based on a decision by the Higher Education Council. The department is one of the essential divisions of the Faculty of Medicine, focusing on diagnosing and treating dermatological conditions affecting the skin, hair, and nails. It offers comprehensive educational programs aimed at training students on the scientific and clinical foundations of dermatology and how to manage these conditions using the latest medical technologies and techniques. The department excels in providing distinguished medical services in various fields, including chronic skin diseases, immunohematology, sexually transmitted diseases, allergic skin disorders, and cosmetic and reconstructive dermatologic surgeries. It also endeavors to promote scientific research in dermatology to improve diagnostic and therapeutic methods. Through collaboration with the university hospital and medical centers, the department contributes to preparing qualified physicians capable of delivering advanced healthcare, thereby enhancing the quality of medical services and keeping pace with modern advancements in the field.
