Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology
MARINE BIOLOGY
The Marine biology program is a very interesting branch of marine science that studies the diversity and biology of marine organisms from the very tiny planktonic organisms to the largest megafauna of dolphins and whales. The program is divided into three tracks: marine ecology, marine fisheries, and marine aquaculture. Staff members of the marine biology department are highly qualified and helpful and do their best to help improve students ‘skills throughout the whole period of their stay in the department.
The Marine biology program is delivered mainly on the main campus in Sulymania, jeddah. The practical courses and field visits are conducted in Obhur marine station.
One of the strengths of the marine biology program is the presence of 3 tracks: aquaculture, marine fisheries, and marine environment. These tracks help to obtain information and knowledge of marine sciences. With the increase of interest in aquaculture and the achievement of food security within the framework of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, the need for qualified candidates has been remarkably increased increases, and this is what the aquaculture track provides.

Bachelor's degree in Marine Geology
MARINE GEOLOGY
The Department of Marine Geology was established in 1398 AH corresponding to 1978 AD as one of the important scientific departments in the Faculty of Marine Sciences at King Abdulaziz University. The Department of Marine Geology at the Faculty of Marine Sciences is the only scientific department in the Middle East that aims to study the composition and formation of the sea beds and edges of sea basins and the mineral and non-metallic mineral resources they store, oil and gas. One of the most important features of the department is the distinction of its academic members who have graduated with high degrees from the most famous American, European and Japanese universities in the fields of geology and ocean sciences. As well as the distinction of its technical and administrative staff. The Department of Marine Geology has made research contributions over the past three decades and has played a major role in the studies of the Red Sea as well as the Arabian Gulf.
The Department of Marine Geology is unique in granting bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in marine geology, where the student studies a group of subjects in the Department of Marine Geology in addition to marine chemistry, marine biology, marine physics, and other natural sciences that qualifies him for academic, research, and industrial sites in the service of the country. The department's outputs are related to the various fields interrelated with oil and gas companies, marine environmental organizations and bodies, as well as marine and geological cadastral authorities. The administrative, educational and financial matters of the Marine Geology Department are implemented and activated in accordance with the university’s rules and regulations through the department’s council, which consists of the department head and their Excellences members of the Council.

Bachelor's degree in Marine Physics
MARINE PHYSICS
The Marine Physics Program, part of the Faculty of Marine Sciences at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah City, was established through a decision by the University’s Supreme Council, documented as Decision No. (2) on 6 Rajab 1398 AH, which corresponds to June 12, 1978 AD. This founding decision marked a significant step in advancing marine science education and research in Saudi Arabia. The Department of Marine Physics of the Faculty of Marine Sciences is the only scientific department in the Middle East that aims to study the physical processes of the ocean, including currents, waves, and the interaction between the ocean and atmosphere. This knowledge is crucial for predicting climate change, managing marine ecosystems, and supporting maritime navigation and resource exploration. Students in marine physics develop skills in collecting and analyzing oceanographic data, learning how physical properties like temperature and salinity affect ocean behavior.
The field’s interdisciplinary nature integrates physics, mathematics, and computational tools, preparing students for diverse careers in research, environmental management, and industry. One of the most important features of the department is the distinction of its academic members who have graduated with high degrees from the most famous American, European and Indian universities in the fields of marine Physics and ocean sciences. The Department of Marine Physics has made research contributions over the past three decades and has played a major role in the studies of the Red Sea as well as the Arabian Gulf.
