Overview

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at King Abdulaziz University was established in 1389/1390 AH (1969/1970 AD) based on the recommendations of the Advisory Experts Committee, which submitted its report to the University’s Founding Board. The establishment of the faculty was a response to a thorough study highlighting the importance of creating a faculty to meet the Kingdom’s need for qualified scientific competencies, aiming to support state institutions with national cadres capable of contributing to development plans across various fields. The faculty offers a diverse range of academic programs at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a focus on a multidisciplinary approach encompassing languages, literature, history, philosophy, and social sciences. It aims to enable students to acquire intellectual skills and ethical values, preparing them to make a meaningful contribution to the development of both the local and global community, while committing to the advancement of knowledge, scientific research, and the preservation and celebration of cultural heritage.
