The Public Relations Department is one of the core academic departments in the Facutly of Communication and Media at King Abdulaziz University. Its academic roots date back to 1976 when public relations was introduced as a track within the Department of Media, one of the earliest media departments in the Kingdom and the Arab world. In 2012 the track became an independent department within the specialized Facutly of communication and media, with a modern curriculum aligned with international programs and labor market needs. The department aims to prepare specialized professionals in public relations and corporate communication who possess both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to manage communication with diverse audiences, build institutional reputation, plan communication campaigns, manage crises, and organize events. The academic program focuses on areas such as corporate communication, media planning, event management and protocol, digital public relations, content creation, and communication campaigns. The department relies on an applied learning environment that includes field training and practical projects to enhance graduates’ readiness for careers in public relations, corporate communication management, official spokesperson roles, conference and event organization, social communication, and media practice across various sectors.The department offers a range of academic programs including:
