20260412890The Master of Communication and Media Program was established in 1433H (2012) following the approval of the Department of Media Council at its tenth meeting held on 28/6/1433H. The program was subsequently presented to the Council of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at its seventh meeting held on 23/7/1433H, Under Resolution No. (10), the Faculty Council recommended the approval of the Master of Communication and Media Program as a coursework-and-thesis master's degree. The University's President approved the Council's minutes through Letter No. 103545/33/D dated 18/8/1433H. This approval was granted prior to the separation of the Department of Media from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, which later resulted in the establishment of the Faculty of Communication and Media. The new faculty comprised four bachelor's degree programs in addition to the Master of Communication and Media Program. The Faculty of Communication and Media was officially established during the 1433H academic year pursuant to Administrative Decision No. 2415/Q dated 30/11/1433H. Its establishment aimed to prepare qualified national professionals in the fields of communication, media, arts, and related disciplines, enabling them to contribute to national development objectives and promote these achievements through local and international media platforms.
To prepare specialized researchers in communication and media who possess advanced knowledge, research competence, and critical thinking skills, and are capable of generating scientific knowledge, advancing media practices, and developing innovative solutions to media and societal issues, thereby contributing to the knowledge economy and supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
