The Department of Occupational Therapy was established in 1434 H / 2013 G by royal decree to meet the Kingdom's need for male and female graduates in the field of occupational therapy. The first batch of students (both male and female) began the program in the first semester of the academic year 1439 H / 2018 G. The Department of Occupational Therapy is an academic department specializing in the study and application of occupational therapy techniques to improve individuals' ability to perform daily activities and life functions. The department aims to train students in therapeutic techniques to assist patients who suffer from physical or mental disabilities that affect their ability to carry out daily tasks such as eating, dressing, working, and learning. The department offers specialized academic programs in occupational therapy at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, focusing on developing clinical and theoretical skills in areas such as physical rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, managing cognitive and mental disabilities, pediatric therapy for children with special needs, and occupational therapy for sports injuries and accidents. The department is equipped with modern laboratories and facilities featuring the latest occupational therapy equipment, as well as field training in hospitals and accredited medical centers. The department aims to graduate qualified occupational therapists who can provide outstanding healthcare and improve patients' lives by enhancing their independence and ability to perform daily activities.
