Social responsibility and community service

The Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation Sciences at King Abdulaziz University believes that its social responsibility is an integral part of its educational and research mission. Through its programs and initiatives, the faculty seeks to serve the community and prepare specialized professionals who contribute to improving the quality of life for individuals with special needs and patients, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The faculty focuses on strengthening its role in raising health awareness and providing comprehensive medical rehabilitation services to the community. The faculty’s efforts include organizing awareness and educational programs in areas such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and hearing sciences, and advanced medical rehabilitation, in addition to offering workshops and training courses for students and community members on rehabilitation techniques, disability prevention, and enhancement of functional and health skills. The faculty also supports volunteer initiatives that contribute to assisting individuals with special needs, while providing students with practical opportunities in hospitals and rehabilitation centers that help develop their professional and social skills. The faculty works on building strategic partnerships with healthcare and community institutions to maximize the impact of its programs, whether through medical consultations or joint educational and rehabilitation initiatives. Through these efforts, the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation Sciences reaffirms its commitment to social responsibility as a cornerstone of sustainable development, and to its active contribution in improving quality of life and promoting health awareness in the local and national community.
