The Faculty of Marine Sciences at King Abdulaziz University believes that its social responsibility is an integral part of its educational and research mission. Through its programs and initiatives, the faculty seeks to serve the community and prepare specialized professionals who contribute to the development and preservation of marine resources, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The faculty focuses on strengthening its role in promoting marine and environmental awareness, and in providing initiatives that support the protection and sustainability of marine ecosystems. The faculty’s efforts include organizing awareness and educational programs in areas such as maritime safety, coastal conservation, and marine resource management, in addition to offering workshops and training courses on navigation safety, aquaculture, and marine pollution prevention. The faculty also supports volunteer initiatives such as beach clean-ups and the protection of marine wildlife, while providing its students with field opportunities through marine expeditions and applied research that enhance their scientific and practical skills. The faculty works to build strategic partnerships with marine and environmental institutions to maximize the impact of its programs, whether through advisory research or joint awareness and training initiatives.
