Driven by King Abdulaziz University's commitment to continuous, comprehensive development across all its fields, and in line with the growing focus within the Faculty of Economics and Administration on the ongoing development of all its academic departments, and based on the increasing demand in the Saudi healthcare sector for professionally qualified personnel in the field of "Healthcare and Hospital Management," the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Higher Education Council – may God protect him – issued a royal directive (number 2544/M.B, dated 19/3/1430 AH) approving the transformation of the "Healthcare and Hospital Management program within the Department of Public Administration" into an independent academic department named the "Health Services and Hospitals Management Department" at the Faculty of Economics and Administration. This department was established to provide qualified and trained administrative personnel to address the growing challenges and issues within this vital sector. It has become one of the essential academic disciplines for the development of the healthcare sector, especially in light of the significant changes taking place within the Saudi healthcare system, including the increasing number of hospitals and other healthcare facilities, as well as the expansion of companies involved in management, operations, maintenance, and healthcare insurance.
