The Faculty of Earth Sciences at King Abdulaziz University believes that its social responsibility is an integral part of its educational and research mission. Through its programs and initiatives, the faculty seeks to serve the community and prepare specialized scientific professionals who contribute to understanding, exploring, and protecting Earth’s resources, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The faculty focuses on strengthening its role in promoting geological and environmental awareness, and in providing initiatives that support the management of natural resources and environmental conservation. The faculty’s efforts include organizing awareness and educational programs in areas such as Earth sciences, applied geology, and sustainable environment, in addition to offering workshops and training courses for students and community members on natural resource management, disaster risk prevention, and environmental sustainability. The faculty also supports volunteer initiatives that contribute to the protection of the environment and natural sites, while providing its students with field and research project opportunities that enhance their scientific and professional skills. The faculty works on building strategic partnerships with environmental, research, and industrial institutions to maximize the impact of its programs, whether through advisory studies or joint educational and awareness initiatives.
