Department of Architecture

The Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, King Abdulaziz University, is one of the specialized departments dedicated to the study and design of the built environment. It was established in 1396 AH as part of the School of Environmental Design at that time, in response to the need for qualified national professionals to keep pace with urban development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The department aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to design innovative and functional buildings and architectural spaces that reflect the identity of society and meet its needs, through the integration of architectural theories with practical applications. The department offers distinguished academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with continuous development of curricula in line with labor market requirements and contemporary architectural trends, and contributes to community service through applied research and the preparation of competent graduates capable of addressing contemporary architectural challenges.
