The Academic Advising Unit

The Faculty of Architecture and Planning is committed to providing a supportive and academically enriching environment that enables students to succeed throughout their university journey. In alignment with this commitment, the Faculty has established a structured Academic Advising and Specialization Guidance system to ensure that students receive continuous academic support, professional direction, and timely intervention when needed. Academic advising is considered a fundamental pillar of the educational process. It supports students in understanding academic regulations, planning their study paths effectively, making informed decisions, and overcoming academic challenges. Through a coordinated and quality-driven approach, the Faculty aims to enhance student performance, reduce academic difficulties, and promote timely graduation.

Support students academically throughout their undergraduate and graduate studies.
Assist students in understanding academic rules and degree requirements.
Guide students in selecting appropriate courses and specialization tracks.
Identify and support students facing academic challenges.
Promote academic responsibility, time management, and effective planning.
Improve the overall quality of advising services through continuous assessment.

Services Provided by the Unit

The Academic Advising and Major Guidance Unit offers a range of services, most notably :

Individual Academic Advising: Providing direct academic consultations to students and following up on special cases.
Monitoring Academically Struggling Students: Analyzing the causes of academic difficulty, preparing support plans in coordination with academic departments, and tracking academic improvement.
Major Guidance: Assisting students in selecting appropriate majors or study tracks and supporting requests to change majors in accordance with regulations.
Referrals and Integrated Support: Referring cases that require psychological, social, or financial support to the relevant entities and coordinating with the University Counseling Center.
Measuring Beneficiary Satisfaction: Conducting periodic surveys, analyzing results, and improving services based on feedback.
