20260412890The PhD in Usul al-Fiqh is an advanced academic program at Level 8 of the National Qualifications Framework. Comprising 36 credit hours across advanced research-based courses and an original thesis, it prepares specialized researchers capable of producing authentic usuli knowledge, advancing methods of legal inference (istinbat), and addressing contemporary issues (nawazil). It is delivered at the main campus in Jeddah for both sections.
Scholarly leadership in advanced studies of Islamic legal theory, and the formation of distinguished researchers who contribute to the development of usuli knowledge and to the service of Sharia and legal questions, nationally and internationally.
To prepare highly qualified researchers specializing in Usul al-Fiqh who are capable of producing authentic usuli knowledge and contributing to the development of methods of legal inference and the treatment of contemporary issues, following a rigorous methodology that balances the authenticity of the heritage with the requirements of the age.
