Dr. Malak works as a Senior Advisor for Sustainability and Climate Change at the Ministry of Energy. She was elected as Vice-Chair of the Climate Change Working Group of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Ambassador Faisal TRAD
A distinguished Saudi diplomat and internationally recognized expert in politics and international relations, particularly in intellectual property, the World Trade Organization, telecommunications, humanitarian affairs, refugees, global health, and international labor issues. He served his country, leadership, and nation for over forty years.
During the later years of his career, he served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia across three continents (Africa, Asia, and Europe) in eight diplomatic missions. His assignments included Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador to Japan, Ambassador to India, Ambassador to Belgium and non-resident Ambassador to Luxembourg, as well as Permanent Representative to the European Union and the Council of Europe. He also served as Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva.
He represented the Kingdom in numerous international meetings, including four Arab summits, three Gulf summits, two Islamic summits, and two United Nations summits. He also served on more than fifty joint committees and was part of the Saudi negotiating team for accession to the World Trade Organization.
While serving in Geneva, he chaired the Advisory Committee of the United Nations Human Rights Council in 2015.
He received special honors from Waseda University in Tokyo and Jamia Millia Islamia University in New Delhi, as well as the “Messengers of Peace Heroes” shield from the King of Sweden.
