Overview

The Deanship of Admissions and Registration at King Abdulaziz University is the gateway for students to the university, as it is responsible for their educational affairs. The Admissions and Registration Department began its work in the academic year 1393/1394 AH (1973/1974 AD) by implementing the credit hour system in the College of Science. After its success, the system was applied to other colleges, making it a pioneering experience. As the number of male and female students increased, the responsibilities placed on this administration grew, making it essential to develop and strengthen it with qualified personnel. On the 13th of Muharram in the year 1396 AH (1976 AD), the establishment of the Deanship of Admissions and Registration was approved, and it has worked to develop its operations to accommodate the increase in student numbers. Since the first semester of 96/97 AH (1996 AD), the deanship has utilized computers to achieve complete discipline in the admissions and registration processes. The deanship has taken exemplary steps to benefit from the services of the Information Technology Center in this field, where admissions for both regular and distance learning programs are conducted online, as well as the recording of student results by faculty members. Additionally, course addition and deletion for students are also done via the internet. The deanship aims to provide a distinguished educational environment by facilitating admission procedures and ensuring the application of academic standards and approved regulations. Its responsibilities include receiving admission applications, conducting necessary evaluations, and issuing decisions related to admissions, in addition to managing student records and providing administrative support to academic departments. The deanship also seeks to improve the student experience by offering various services, such as academic advising and information related to registration, contributing to the university's goals in developing education and scientific research.
