About the Program

The Master in Applied Linguistics program provides students with advanced knowledge of language as it operates across social, cultural, and digital contexts, with a strong emphasis on research and critical analysis. The curriculum covers key areas such as theoretical linguistics, multimodal and critical discourse analysis, second language acquisition and teaching, child language development, and digital media discourse, alongside core courses in research methods. The program integrates theory and practice through seminars, elective courses, and a supervised research project, fostering strong analytical, research, and professional communication skills. Graduates are well prepared for careers in language-related fields, education, media, and research, and are equipped to engage critically with contemporary linguistic issues at both local and global levels.

The Master Applied Linguistics program equips its graduates for a wide range of academic, research, and professional careers. These include university teaching, scientific research, public and private education, teaching English as a foreign or second language, curriculum and instructional design, the development of language teaching materials, language assessment and testing, and positions in language centers and training institutions. Graduates are also qualified to work in research centers and linguistic studies institutes, translation, editing, and language review, educational and digital content development, language consultancy, language policy and planning, as well as in governmental and private organizations, international organizations, and institutions concerned with educational development, intercultural communication, language technologies, and applied language solutions.
