King Abdulaziz University's Faculty of Maritime Studies in Jeddah enjoys strategic partnerships with renowned maritime institutions both locally and internationally. These partnerships aim to enhance maritime education and training, provide employment opportunities for graduates, and support Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. Below are the most prominent partnerships and agreements: 1. Bahri Company The faculty collaborates with Bahri, a leading company in transport and logistics services, through a practical training program on board the company’s fleet vessels. The training lasts for one year, divided into two phases, and covers areas of navigation and marine engineering. Upon completion, students receive a training certificate qualifying them to obtain a Second Officer or Third Marine Engineer license. 2. Zamil Offshore Services Company The faculty signed a cooperation agreement with Zamil Offshore Services to train students and employ them after graduation, in addition to providing consultancy services to develop the maritime transport industry. 3. Cruise Saudi A memorandum of understanding was signed with Cruise Saudi, owned by the Public Investment Fund, to develop specialized training programs in the marine tourism industry. These programs are aligned with labor market needs and aim to enhance collaboration between the academic and industrial sectors. 4. HUTA Marine Works The faculty works with HUTA Marine Works to train students on board their vessels in the fields of operation and maintenance. The partnership also includes offering professional courses for the company’s employees and developing training programs using maritime simulators. 5. Royal Saudi Naval Forces A memorandum of understanding was signed with the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, represented by King Fahd Naval Academy, to exchange expertise, develop academic programs, and provide opportunities for naval personnel to pursue maritime studies at the faculty. 6. International Recognitions and Accreditations The faculty holds recognitions and accreditations from prestigious international organizations such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the International Association of Maritime Universities, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, and others.
