Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at King Abdulaziz University was established in 1395 AH / 1975 AD and is considered one of the leading and active engineering departments at the university. The department offers Bachelor’s, Master’s (with thesis or non-thesis options), and Doctoral programs in civil and environmental engineering, covering multiple fields including: structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, water and environmental engineering, transportation engineering, and project management. The department is distinguished by a highly qualified and experienced full-time academic staff, including professors, associate professors, assistant professors, and lecturers, in addition to well-equipped teaching and research laboratories and a specialized administrative team. The department’s programs aim to prepare creative engineers with broad knowledge, strong analytical, managerial, and innovative abilities, along with practical and experimental skills that enable them to face future engineering and environmental challenges. The department also engages in active research activities that meet the needs of the Kingdom and the Middle East region, striving to collaborate with government entities and local industries, and facilitate knowledge transfer between the university and various sectors through consultations, seminars, training courses, meetings, and field visits.
