Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Program

The Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program at the College of Pharmacy, King Abdulaziz University, was established under Royal Decree No. 89 (2/6/1422 AH) as the second college of pharmacy in the Kingdom and the first Saudi institution to confer the PharmD degree. Developed in line with the latest international standards in pharmacy education, the six-year program combines strong theoretical and practical foundations with extensive hands-on training so graduates can serve as integral members of the healthcare team understanding medical diagnoses, selecting appropriate medications and doses, evaluating alternative therapies, and communicating effectively with patients and providers. Its aim is to expand pharmacy practice toward safe, effective, evidence-based and cost-conscious drug-therapy management, reduce medication misuse, and prepare pharmacists for practice across hospital and community pharmacy, drug manufacturing and development, regulation, and scientific and academic research, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
