Partnerships and Agreements

The Faculty of Medicine at Rabigh – King Abdulaziz University has established a number of strategic partnerships and agreements that reflect its commitment to academic excellence and community service, while contributing to the development of its healthcare and educational systems. One of the most prominent collaborations is with the Second Jeddah Health Cluster and Rabigh General Hospital. In February 2025, the Faculty launched specialized outpatient clinics at the hospital, led by a team of consultants from the college. These clinics cover specialties such as internal medicine, orthopedics, and ophthalmology. The initiative aims to enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to the people of Rabigh, offer clinical training opportunities for students, and promote joint research and academic development. In October 2024, the Faculty signed a memorandum of understanding with the Al-Bir Charity Association in Rabigh to provide free medical consultations to orphans through the university’s medical clinic, supervised by the Faculty’s pediatric consultants. This partnership highlights the college’s humanitarian and social responsibility. At the departmental level, the college is actively engaged in community and research partnerships. The Department of Internal Medicine collaborates with institutions such as King Fahd General Hospital and King Abdullah Medical Complex in Jeddah. The Department of Pharmacology has carried out research initiatives in cooperation with the Rabigh Education Department and the Jeddah Health Directorate on topics such as Helicobacter pylori and asthma treatments. Meanwhile, the Department of Family and Community Medicine has led various public health awareness programs in schools and the wider community, focusing on issues like smoking, diabetes, and Down syndrome. These efforts are supported by the Faculty’s Advisory Board, which includes prominent academic and community figures such as the Governor of Rabigh, representatives from the university, and international medical organizations (e.g., Renaissance Health in Texas and the University of Illinois at Chicago). The Board plays a key role in guiding the college’s strategic planning and expanding its academic partnerships locally and internationally. These partnerships and agreements embody the college’s holistic approach to community service, medical education, and institutional collaboration, in alignment with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030.
