Department of Respiratory Therapy

The Respiratory Therapy (RT) program was officially established in September 2018 with the first batch, consisting of 12 male and 5 female students. The Department of Respiratory Therapy is an academic department specialized in studying and applying respiratory therapy techniques for individuals suffering from respiratory disorders, whether caused by chronic diseases such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or acute conditions such as respiratory failure or pulmonary injuries. The department aims to train students to diagnose and treat respiratory issues using advanced medical techniques and equipment. The department offers specialized academic programs in respiratory therapy at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, focusing on the development of clinical and theoretical skills in areas such as artificial ventilation, rehabilitation of patients with respiratory diseases, oxygen therapy, and care for patients requiring long-term respiratory support. The department is equipped with modern laboratories and facilities featuring the latest technological devices used in respiratory therapy, in addition to field training in hospitals and accredited medical centers. The department aims to graduate specialists in respiratory therapy who are capable of providing high-quality medical care, improving patients' breathing abilities, and contributing to the development of the respiratory healthcare sector.
