MARINE BIOLOGY

The Marine biology program is a very interesting branch of marine science that studies the diversity and biology of marine organisms from the very tiny planktonic organisms to the largest megafauna of dolphins and whales. The program is divided into three tracks: marine ecology, marine fisheries, and marine aquaculture. Staff members of the marine biology department are highly qualified and helpful and do their best to help improve students ‘skills throughout the whole period of their stay in the department. The Marine biology program is delivered mainly on the main campus in Sulymania, jeddah. The practical courses and field visits are conducted in Obhur marine station. One of the strengths of the marine biology program is the presence of 3 tracks: aquaculture, marine fisheries, and marine environment. These tracks help to obtain information and knowledge of marine sciences. With the increase of interest in aquaculture and the achievement of food security within the framework of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, the need for qualified candidates has been remarkably increased increases, and this is what the aquaculture track provides.
