The Faculty of Marine Sciences at King Abdulaziz University believes that its social responsibility is an integral part of its educational and research mission. Through its programs and initiatives, the faculty seeks to serve the community and prepare specialized professionals who contribute to the study and protection of the marine environment and the sustainability of marine resources, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The faculty focuses on strengthening its role in promoting environmental and marine awareness, and in providing initiatives that support scientific research and the development of sustainable environmental policies. The faculty’s efforts include organizing awareness and educational programs in areas such as marine sciences, aquaculture, marine environment protection, and marine resource management, in addition to offering workshops and training courses for students and community members on maritime safety, modern oceanographic techniques, and pollution prevention. The faculty also supports volunteer initiatives that contribute to the protection of beaches and marine wildlife, while providing students with practical opportunities in field projects and marine research that enhance their scientific and professional skills. The faculty works on building strategic partnerships with marine and environmental institutions to maximize the impact of its programs, whether through advisory studies or joint educational and awareness initiatives.
