Department of Early Childhood

The Department of Early Childhood was established in 1401-1402 AH (1980-1981 AD) as one of the academic departments at the Faculty of Human Sciences and Designs (formerly Home Economics) at King Abdulaziz University. It serves as a pioneering platform aimed at meeting the needs of Saudi society by preparing specialists in early childhood education equipped with comprehensive academic qualifications. The department is recognized as one of the leading departments in early childhood studies among Saudi universities. The department is distinguished by the diversity of its specialized fields, which include child psychology, child education, child health, and care for children with special needs, enhancing students' ability to understand childhood in all its dimensions. The department aims to prepare highly qualified graduates capable of working in various fields related to childhood, such as early childhood education, family counseling, and specialized child care.
