Exemption Policies

A student may be exempted from studying English at the English Language Institute if they pass the IELTS or TOEFL iBT tests according to the specific requirements for each course.


Important Notes
  • The test certificate must be original and valid (not older than 2 years).
  • Exemption requests can be submitted at any time during the academic year, provided it is at least two weeks before final exams.
  • Previous grades in English courses remain recorded in the academic transcript.
  • Course equivalency will be marked with code (E).

Application Procedure
  • Submit the request via the Electronic Request System (ERS) for course equivalency with a copy of the certificate and student ID.
  • The original certificate may be requested for verification at the Academic Affairs office.
  • The request will be reviewed to ensure requirements are met.
  • The student will be notified of the result (approved or rejected).
  • Check the academic transcript in the Odyssey Plus system to confirm the (E) code appears.
  • Exempted courses are not counted in the GPA.
