Biography
Dr. Qutub Graduated in 2001 from Umm Al Qura University with BA in English Language (with a minor in Education). He obtained an MA in Curricula and Methods of Teaching English Language from Umm Al Qura University in 2005. In addition to his local MA degree, he completed an MA in TESL/Applied Linguistics program, Northern Arizona University, Arizona, USA. Finally, he acquired a Doctorate in TESOL and Applied Linguistics (EdD.) from the University of Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom in 2017. Dr. Qutub worked as a teacher in Saudi public schools, an English Language Educational Supervisor for Saudi public schools, and an Educational Supervisor for international schools in Jeddah before joining The English Language Institute (ELI) at King Abdulaziz University in 2008. Currently, he works as the Head of Quality and Academic Accreditation Unit at the ELI. Dr. Qutub’s research interests include, but not limited to, second language pronunciation, second language acquisition, ESP, and program administration.
