The Department of Industrial Engineering was established in 1975. It is an academic department specializing in educating and training students in the design, analysis, and improvement of industrial systems, with a focus on enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of industrial processes. The department aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand and manage complex systems that involve people, machines, materials, information, energy, and finance. Students in this department study a range of topics, including production management, quality engineering, mathematical analysis, human engineering, information systems, logistics, and process design. The department offers academic programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, where students learn how to apply industrial engineering principles to improve production and service systems in various industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, energy, and logistics. The department also promotes scientific research in areas such as efficiency improvement, process sustainability, data analysis, and the development of new techniques to enhance productivity and quality. The Department of Industrial Engineering aims to prepare engineers capable of solving complex problems in industrial environments and providing innovative solutions that contribute to improving industrial and technological performance across various sectors, thus supporting economic growth and achieving sustainable development.
