The Academic Advising

Academic advising represents a central pillar in the university education system, as it provides support and facilitation that help students achieve success and stability throughout their academic journey. It serves as a fundamental support mechanism, accompanying students from their enrollment in the college until graduation, and assisting them in effectively planning their academic and professional futures. In line with the College of Engineering’s commitment to enhancing its services and improving the student experience, the college is working on developing an academic advising system supported by artificial intelligence technologies. This system aims to facilitate access to information, accelerate responses to academic inquiries, and assist students in academic planning and decision-making with greater efficiency and flexibility, thereby enhancing the quality of the educational process and elevating the level of support provided.

Academic Advising Tasks:

Conducting prior research related to their inquiries.
Second: During the Meeting with the Academic Advisor Clearly presenting and discussing academic and career goals. Setting an expected graduation timeline and consulting the advisor about it. Collaborating with the advisor to develop a study plan and schedule for the upcoming semesters. Asking all questions to ensure clarity and informed decision-making.
Third: Follow-up After Meetings Adhering to the advisor’s recommendations. Maintaining continuous communication and sending emails for any additional inquiries. Reviewing graduation requirements and ensuring proper understanding. Informing the advisor before taking any academic action (drop, add, withdrawal, deferment, etc.)
