The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, King Abdulaziz University, is one of the leading academic departments in the Kingdom. It aims to prepare highly qualified dental professionals who meet the needs of the labor market in the fields of fixed and removable prosthodontics and dental implants, in addition to advanced prosthodontics specialties for the functional and esthetic rehabilitation of the oral and maxillofacial region. The department contributes to teaching fixed and removable prosthodontics and dental implant courses to undergraduate students and supervises the Master’s program in Prosthodontics, which aims to prepare dentists with advanced expertise in diagnosing and treating complex cases using the latest clinical and digital technologies. It houses advanced clinical units that provide fixed and removable prosthodontics and dental implant services and manage complex prosthodontic cases, in addition to offering specialized dental care services that enhance the university’s role in community service. The department also places great emphasis on scientific research through supervising theses, conducting applied research in the field of prosthodontics, publishing in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, and actively participating in local and international conferences.
