The Department of Endodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, King Abdulaziz University, is one of the leading academic and clinical pillars of the faculty, teaching the fundamental and clinical sciences related to the diagnosis and management of pulpal and periapical diseases using the latest technologies and internationally approved materials, and integrating evidence-based theoretical instruction with hands-on clinical training. The department oversees the training of undergraduate students through comprehensive preclinical and clinical programs that equip them with essential and advanced skills in diagnosis, treatment planning, and the execution of endodontic procedures of varying complexity, has offered a thesis-based Master’s program in Endodontics since 2013 to prepare specialized academic and research professionals, is currently establishing a PhD program in the specialty, and plays a pivotal role in training dentists enrolled in the Saudi Board of Endodontics in line with the latest national and international standards. The department also places great emphasis on scientific research through advanced studies covering the diagnosis and treatment of pulpal diseases, the development of endodontic instruments and techniques, and the evaluation of the properties of biomaterials, in addition to innovation in diagnostic imaging technologies such as cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and modern digital modalities.
