The Vice Deanship for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research is the entity responsible for enhancing and supporting graduate academic programs and research activities at the Faculty of Dentistry. It strives to improve the quality of scientific research, innovation, and continuing education outcomes, while supporting and mentoring postgraduate students throughout their academic and research journeys. The Vice Deanship also provides a variety of academic services to faculty members, including appointments and promotions, participation in scientific conferences, excellence allowances, and regulating the work of part-time consultants.

The Vice Deanship comprises several specialized units and committees that work in harmony to achieve its objectives, including:

• Graduate Studies Unit: Oversees graduate programs, coordinates and addresses student affairs, and ensures the quality of academic programs.
• Scientific Research Unit: Supervises research activities, promotes scientific publication, and supports researchers across various disciplines.
• Academic Affairs Unit for Saudi Board Programs: Oversees the academic and administrative aspects of the Saudi Board programs at the Faculty of Dentistry. Responsibilities include coordination with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), ensuring compliance with accredited academic and professional standards, monitoring training plans, providing academic and administrative support to trainees, and evaluating performance to ensure high-quality outcomes that meet labor market demands and community needs. The Faculty of Dentistry is an SCFHS-accredited training center for the Saudi Board programs, offering high-quality training that qualifies healthcare practitioners for professional excellence, across eight fully accredited programs.
• Continuing Education Unit: Aims to develop professional and academic skills through specialized training programs and courses for faculty members, students, and the community.
• Teaching Assistants and Scholarship Affairs: Responsible for overseeing teaching assistants’ affairs, providing academic and administrative support to scholarship students, and facilitating procedures to ensure their academic success.
• Advanced Technologies in Dental Research Laboratory: Provides infrastructure and technical equipment to support scientific research projects and conduct specialized experiments and studies.
• Research Ethics Committee: Reviews and approves research proposals, ensuring compliance with international research ethics standards and safeguarding the rights of study participants.
