The Marketing Communication Department is one of the main academic departments in the Facutly of Communication and Media at King Abdulaziz University. Its origins date back to 1976 when advertising was introduced as a track within the Department of Media at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. In 2012 the track developed into an independent department within the specialized Facutly, with updated curricula aligned with international programs and market needs. The department aims to prepare professionals specialized in marketing communication and advertising who combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills and can plan communication campaigns, manage marketing content, build brands, and understand consumer behavior in rapidly evolving digital environments. The academic program focuses on areas such as marketing content creation, consumer behavior, marketing research, advertising message design, and integrated communication campaigns. The department adopts an applied educational environment that includes field training, practical projects, and the use of digital tools and modern technologies, enhancing graduates’ readiness for careers in brand management, advertising campaigns, content creation, market research, and digital marketing.
