Partnerships and Agreements

The Institute for Teaching Arabic to Speakers of Other Languages at King Abdulaziz University aims to enhance its academic and training mission through local and international partnerships and cooperation agreements that focus on promoting and teaching the Arabic language using advanced technologies. The institute has organized annual training courses for Arabic language teachers from countries such as Indonesia and Senegal, in addition to offering remote training programs. Recently, it launched a training program for Arabic learners from Thailand in collaboration with the Institute of Research, Studies, and Consulting Services, as part of consultancy contracts aimed at empowering pilgrims to learn the Arabic language and engage with Arab culture. In support of educational capacity-building, the institute concluded a field program for training Arabic language experts for non-native speakers, in partnership with the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language. This four-week program included practical lectures and field visits to universities, institutes, and cultural centers, with the goal of preparing educational leaders and connecting them with best practices in the field. The institute’s vision is to become a global hub for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers by preparing specialized teachers, conducting field research to develop curricula and teaching methods, and collaborating with educational and religious institutions to build distinguished capabilities, in addition to offering training programs both within and outside the Kingdom. These partnerships contribute to reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s role in serving the Arabic language and expanding its global presence.
